A study of the economics of various desalination processes is conducted (First and Second Chapters) as compared to underground water transported from south Sahara Desert to Northern Coastal Regions, the playground of desalination (Third and Fourth Chapters), to calculate the cost of cubic meter of desalinated water for thermal and membrane desalination processes as compared to transport of underground fresh water.
The cost analysis techniques used for both -Desalination Economics and -Underground Water Transport Economics are with well-known simple procedures.
The desalination cost estimation procedures used are as follow - (1)Economic Calculation Analysis Method (ECAM) which uses the principles of economics to calculate the cost of cubic meter of desalinated water - (2)Economics' Data Analysis Method (EDAM) which uses linear model equations developed from practical data to calculate the different costs related to the desalination process, as compared to Economics of underground water transport cost analysis study by treating capital costs as - (3)sunk value without interest rate and - (4)with interest rate.
This will help to compare between Desalination and Transport of water.
