The research work is on information needs and utilization by fish farmers in Egbema clan, in Delta State.
The population of the study consists of 204 respondents representing three communities of fish farmers’ associations.
The descriptive survey method was used to investigate the problem.
Questionnaire was the main instrument used for data collection.
Five research questions and five hypotheses were used to investigated the problem.
Simple percentages were used to analyse the data and the t- test statistic was used to test the hypotheses.
The results arising from data analysis showed that there is difference in information needs of male and female fish farmers.
The study also revealed that there is significant difference in the areas of information utilization by young and old fish farmers.
The study shows that literate and illiterate fish farmers utilized different sources of information.
They also have differences in preferred sources of information.
Finally the study revealed that the young and old fish farmers have similar factors militating against their effective utilization of information.
Based on the findings Some recommendations were made.

He is presently running PhD in Library and Information Science program in Nnamdi Azikwe University Awka, Nigeria.
