This work examines focus constructions in Ọ̀wọ̀n-ògè, a language spoken in Àkókó North-west of Ondo state in Nigeria.
The work is aimed at establishing the methods of focusing in the language.
Using the Principles and Parameters approach, the study is also undertaken to show the relationship between focus and other syntactic processes; Content-question formation, relativization and topicalisation in Ọ̀wọ̀n-Ògè.
Adenuga Priscilla Lola studied Linguistics in the department of Linguistics and Nigerian languages, University of Ilorin Kwara state in Nigeria.She has just completed her Masters degree program and her area of interest are syntax,semantics,morphology and sociolinguistics.Adenuga is presently a Ph.D student in University of Lagos state Nigeria.
