Dr Akanbi was born in the Southwest of Nigeria.
He attended the University of Ibadan, and Ekiti State University where he obtained his Ph.D.
He is presently a senior lecturer in the Department of Linguistics and Nigerian Languages, Ekiti State University, Ado-Ekiti, Nigeria.
