Hypertension is an important worldwide public-health challenge with a huge global burden because of its high prevalence and concomitant risks of cardiovascular and kidney disease.

Adejuwon Adewale Adeneye [MBBS, PhD, DSc(AM)] obtained his doctorates in Pharmacology and Alternative Medicine from the University of Lagos, Nigeria and the Indian Board of Alternative Medicine, Kolkata, respectively.
He is currently an Associate Professor in the Department of Pharmacology, Lagos State University College of Medicine, Ikeja, Nigeria
