Tannery effluents discharge into agricultural field constitute a large amount of Chromium which affect the growth of micro-organisms, plants and humans when taking above the recommended level of 0.05mg/l (WHO).
Therefore, this Book treat the isolation of fungi from contaminated and control landfill, showing the physico-chemical properties of the contaminants of Total Chromium.
The study further shows the tolerant level of filamentous fungi to the Chromium concentration.
The tolerant filamentous fungi could be use as strong candidate for treatment of waste regarding the ability to remove heavy metals from contaminated waste water as well as landfill abatement.
Hence, this Book substitute the cheaper and cleaner biological remediating method for the costlier and not too environmental friendly physico-chemical method.
