There is contradictory finding regards the effect of SFP on children’s school performance.
The unemployment of impact evaluation research designs that have relative strength over simple difference and time series data is also identified as a methodological gap in Ethiopian based SFP researches.
Hence, the current work has tried to evaluate the program’s effect using the DID estimator to assess two of the three research questions to minimize the limitation of using cross sectional and time series quasi experimental designs.
Apart this, there is less trial to evaluate the effect of SFP on children’s attention measure and a clear gap is to be found in assessing the impact of SFP in urban settings, specifically in Addis Ababa in which a unique form of SFP implementing when compared with the common WFP’s SFP and HGSFP modalities which are practicing in other parts of Ethiopia.
Thus, based on the stated problem, the author makes an attempt to give readers an insight into the effect of School Feeding program on academic achievement, attendance and attention of primary public school children in Arada sub city, Addis Ababa, Ethiopia.
