Humans seek information to gather, store, interpret and use for various purposes.
Information is important to increase people’s awareness, change the current state of knowledge, change and help in decision making processes.
This book investigates the web information seeking behavior of Postgraduate Students and Academic Staff of Ethiopian Civil Service University.
To do so, mixed method of research were employed.
A total of 42 academic staff and 174 postgraduate students participated in the study.
The data generated through survey questionnaire were analyzed using frequency, percentages, Mean, Chi-square test and independent t-test.
The results showed that most postgraduate students seek web information for the purpose of doing class assignments (90.2%) and conducting research (71.2%), whereas most academic staff frequently used the web for research and communication purposes.
The study also revealed that students and staff had diverse information needs.
