In recent years, the Government of Ethiopia has given special attention for the development of irrigation schemes in order to attain its goal of food selfsufficiency.
The government‟s commitment for the development of irrigation system has been shown through its Water Sector Development Plan.
In response to this government‟s commitment, different irrigation schemes were planned and implemented by the government.
Koga Irrigation Project, the country‟s first type large scale irrigation scheme for small farmers, is among the irrigation schemes constructed by the government.
The objectives of this study are: Evaluating the extent of beneficiary farmers‟ participation in the MOM of large scale irrigation scheme; Examining the willingness of beneficiary farmers to participate in the MOM of large scale irrigation scheme; and Identify external factors that affect the willingness of beneficiary farmers to participate in the MOM of large scale irrigation schemes.
