This work represents a breakthrough in research on moisture sorption behavior of guna oilseed. It is a tropical food plant whose moisture uptake/loss is critical in process and packaging design.
The book provides an insight into the moisture sorption behavior of guna seeds under varying physical conditions, and assesses the suitability of six models for predicting the sorption behavior of guna seeds in different forms, with comprehensive graphical and mathematical presentation for each model.
It further proposes a moisture sorption model, considered to be the ideal for guna seeds under the entire water activity range of 0.0 -1.0 with an excellent coefficient of performance and least coefficient of error. It also contain a detailed description of the production practices, handling and processing of the crop with sufficient illustrations.
The book is considered of great value to Agriculturalists, Students and teachers of Food Engineering, design Engineers for seed packaging and storage structures and for general academic purposes.
