Ige hails from Akure in Ondo State, Nigeria.
He had his elementary education between 1974 and 1980, secondary education from 1980 to 1985, Bachelor of Biology-Education (B.ED) training from 1985 to 1989, Master in Educational management (M.ED) from 1997 to 1998.
He also bagged Doctoral degree (PhD) in Educational Planning in 2010.
