Readership of newspapers online is fast replacing hardcopy readership in Nigeria and in deed many parts of the world then, the need to go into research on this important area of study.
The research work will be of great significance to the media industries in the sense that it will vividly reveal the result of their labour towards online production, whether as a plus or a waste of effort.
It will also inform them on how best to fashion out their online print version.
It would show the education level of readers in each of the versions read.
Also it would find out if literacy and economy still determine newspaper readership or not.
It will further assist on ways to better incorporate the print version into the world of information technology dynamics if it still wants to maintain its relevance in the global age.
Another significance of this paper is that it will help advertisers to know the demographic range of online news readers and hardcopy readers in order to know which product to advertise online for cost effectiveness The study will give some indication as to how newspaper readers behave, regarding reading hardcopy in the era of online news reading.
Talabi, Felix Olajide was born on 26th May, 1979, at Emure Ekiti, Ekiti State, Nigeria.
He has Diploma in Journalism, B.Sc in Mass Communication from Imo State University Owerri, M.A degree from the prestigious University of Nigeria Nsukka and Ph.D.
degrees all in Mass Communication.
