With the ever increasing rate of environmental degradation, it is imperative that citizens, including youth are educated about protecting the quality of the atmosphere, oceans, forests, and the soil.
Inclusion of Environmental education into schools’ curriculum is just one of the many effective ways of increasing environmental awareness thereby influencing the actions of young people now and when they reach adulthood, so that they may act in a way as to benefit the environment.

Kanniammah Govender has been an educator since 1999, teaching learners of all ages.
In 2008 she began teaching in South Korea and conducted her research for this book.She obtained her Masters Degree in Education with specialisation in Environmental Education in 2011.
