Recommendations of the study.
The researcher recommends that the municipality should provide all the officials with on job training to improve their work performance and skills.
The job training is one of the cheapest and fastest methods to promote training and development for officials without leaving the premises of the municipality.
For the municipality to promote training and development there should be enough work-related workshops provided, so that municipal officials can take part as a form of training strategy which will contribute to the promoting of trained personnel by means of gaining knowledge from other expects at workshops.
The researcher recommends, that employees of the Bushbuckridge Local Municipality must always be encouraged to share their knowledge relating to training and development in the work-place so as to exchange views from different employees about how to promote training and development at the municipality.The researcher also advised for the Bushbuckridge Local Municipality’s Human Resource Panel responsible for training and development always to keep close contact with officials to detect where necessary training and development is needed.
