Performance in Biology subject in Secondary schools in Kenya has been poor for many years with the Arid and Semi Arid Lands (ASAL) regions being the most affected.
Garissa and Ijara districts of Nothern Kenya have been recording dismal performance over the years.
The two districts hold a sizeable number of total public secondary school students’ population in the ASAL regions.
This study sought to find out factors that influence performance in biology in public secondary schools in the two districts and the findings are discussed herein.
Isaac has a Master of Education degree from Kenyatta University.
He teaches Educational Technology and Instructional Methods at Laikipia and Mount Kenya Universities in Kenya.
