Water Resource Users Association (WRUA’s) are basin based level local communities’ institutions that are mandated by the Water Act 2002 with the role of harmonizing water allocations among the three major competing water users; namely domestic, agriculture/industrial and ecology/environment.
WRUA’s regulate the base flow to ensure that the downstream ecosystems are maintained.
