The dramatic increase in the number of students studying in foreign educational institutions has globally created new challenges in the internationalization of higher education institutions (HEIs) and one such challenge is the management of the affairs of these international students.
This book is based on a cross-sectional survey carried out in Universities in Uganda, one of the countries attracting the largest number of international students in the East African Region.
Three conceptualizations of Management are analyzed and the findings reveal that the guidance and communication offered to the international students is inadequate and that coordination of their affairs is poor even in cases where the University has established a coordination office.
This book is suitable for international office personnel, deans of students, educational policy makers, researchers and anyone else interested in the management of student affairs.
Linda Anne Lumbasi has a Master''s in Higher Education Studies from Makerere University, Uganda and a Bachelor of Education degree from Moi University, Kenya.
