This book exposes readers to the leadership styles of owner/managers of manufacturing SME's in Ghana and their approach to market-oriented culture.

The study sought to determine the relationship between owner/manager leadership style, market orientation and SME growth in Ghana.

SMEs have the potential to provide for growth in employment and contribute towards reducing poverty in most African countries.

To achieve the objective of this study, four specific objectives were formulated.

Data on leadership style, market orientation and growth of SMEs were collected from manufacturing SME’s in the Accra Metropolis.

The book explored two major leadership styles (Transactional and Transformational) which is predominant in the Ghanaian setting.

The study had interesting findings as there was no significant relationship between transformational leadership style and market orientation, however, transactional leadership style was found to have a negative but significant relationship with customer orientation and a positive and significant relationship to SME growth.

The findings although surprising, is expected because of the sector under study (manufacturing).
