This study investigated the influence of employee counseling programs on psychological health, wellbeing, and job performance of employees in the banking industry.
Factors that affect employees contribute to poor performance and to a large extent impact their psychological health.
The study applied mixed research design to obtain quantitative and qualitative data.
Data was collected using questionnaires and structured interviews.
The analysis showed significant difference between employee counseling programs and job performance.
The findings revealed positive effects of employee counseling programs on job performance.
Banking officers who have had the benefit of experiencing the counseling programs documented great improvements in their job performance vis-à-vis psychological and behavioral patterns in the organization.
It was recommended that the management of organizations need to buy into the activities of counseling services, establish more centers, recruit more counselors, train counselors in modern approaches to providing counseling services, and give their all-time support to counseling programs for their future success.
