Distance Education is not a new method in the field of education.
For it dates to as early as 1728s, it had been coined by Caleb Phillips, a teacher of Short Hand.
He was looking for an adequate means through which he may weekly send instructional courses to his students.
This means was correspondence or what is referred to snail mail.
After the advance technology had known, diverse electronic tools came into existence.
For example audiotapes, videotapes, TV broadcasting, satellite diffusion among many others.
Recently, the internet has been considered to be one of the most distinguishing characteristics of Distance Education.
Namely, it is the generation that has met a large popularity and large prominence.
In the present day, a lot of universities experience an important change, which affects many aspects such as expectations, goals, teachers’ needs, learners’ needs, among others.
This change aims at offering educational services to communities, to press forward the frontiers of knowledge, to augment the number of students, both on and out-the campus, to raise the number of international students, to bring into being significant and up-to-date educational programs.
