Edward Said’s work was the catalyst of my thesis choice.
His branded works Orientalism, Culture and Imperialism, Covering Islam, the World the Text and the Critic, Out Of Place and so on were mostly the titles that shaped my concern with studying some western texts, mainly the American ones, in an attempt to study the ways these authors are viewing the other, the Moroccan in this case.
Are they just picking up the pieces of information randomly and embellishing them with some artistic skills or selecting what is consistent with the clichés and prejudices they had learnt before visiting and writing about this country?
