The research explores how Yahweh, God of the Oppressed liberated the Hebrews from the religious, socio-economic and political oppression.
Such kind of oppressionn was orchestrated by the Egyptian Pharoahs.
The research uses the liberation- theological method to substantiate its argument. The work examines four aspects; firstly it traces the historicity of the Exodus to determine whether the Exodus was historical or mythical.
Secondly, it discusses how the Hebrews were opppressed in Egypt.
Thirdly, the work looks at how Yahweh, God of the Oppressed preferentially took sides to help liberate the Hebrews from Egyptian Oppression.
Finally, the work, through lessons from Exodus experience demonstartes how God can liberate humanity experiencing various forms of domination the world over especially in African countries such as Zimbabwe, South Africa and Somalia.
