A history of Nyajena.
The book discusses a number of issues on how an area called Nyajena, situated in the South eastern part of Zimbabwe came to be.It captures interesting narratives and different oral traditions of settlement of the groups that occupy the area.
It also thrives to show how the ruled contribute to the running of the polity and how this involvement has led to a patrimonial relationship between the rulers and the ruled.
Kundai Tichagwa is a Lecturer in the History Department at the University of Zimbabwe where she teaches courses in historiography and gender.
Her main area of research is pre-colonial history of Zimbabwe.
