Socio-economic reintegration is one of the four main components of care for survivors of sexual and gender-based violence for any actor or organization concerned with providing an appropriate holistic response to their needs.
The medical, psychosocial, and legal components have already made significant progress, while economic reintegration seems to be neglected by actors, even though poverty is cited as one of the main factors contributing to sexual violence. The survivors of sexual and gender based violence do not feel directly targeted by the AVEC approach when it is strictly applied in its originality.
AVEC is an efficient community approach for the development, so in order to make it more efficient in the socio-economic reintegration of the survivors of sexual and gender based violence, we have proposed new strategies that will have to equip the actors in this thematic.
