Ahmed Abdel-Azeem, a mycologist at the University of Suez Canal, Egypt has won the prestigious Rubenstein fellowship for his studies on the fungi of Egypt in 2011.

He graduated from the Botany Department, Faculty of Science in 1987 with an honors degree graded as excellent.

In 1997, he obtained his master’s degree and awarded his PhD in 2003.
